Nillion joins stc Bahrain as a Pearling Path Partner, driving Blind Computation use cases, and enhancing data privacy through secure computing and decentralized data technologies.

Nillion has formed a strategic partnership with stc Bahrain, a digital enabler renowned for next-generation technological innovation and digital accleration. The partnership marks a significant step in the deployment of Blind Computation, part of the broader category of Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PET). Blind Computation ensures that sensitive data remains private while still allowing meaningful computations to be performed, enabling organizations to derive valuable insights without compromising privacy.

In the first phase of this collaboration, stc Bahrain will deploy a node on Nillion’s Blind Computation network, PETnet—a decentralized platform for private storage and computation. PETnet uses advanced privacy-enhancing technologies, such as multi-party computation, to ensure quantum-secure data storage while enabling encrypted data processing. As the first Telecommunications partner to operate a node on this network, stc Bahrain will support the PETnet’s decentralized operations and security.

Innovating New Business Use Cases and Solutions

Through this partnership, stc Bahrain will utilize Nillion’s Blind Computation network to develop scalable use cases that extend beyond the Gulf region, integrating them into stc Bahrain’s international network through its Wholesale division. This collaboration underscores stc Bahrain’s commitment to pioneering innovative business solutions and advancing emerging technologies, in alignment with Bahrain’s Vision 2030 goals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nillion as a Pearling Path Partner within our Web3 Launchpad Program,” said Saad Odeh, Chief Wholesale Officer at stc Bahrain. “Nillion’s privacy-enhancing technologies and decentralized data solutions align with our vision of a secure, scalable, and interconnected digital future.”

Bahrain’s Data Embassy Law: Pioneering Data Sovereignty

This partnership also aligns with Bahrain’s progressive approach to data management and sovereignty. As the Kingdom of Bahrain advances towards becoming a cloud computing hub, it has pioneered the concept of a ‘data embassy’ through legislation introduced in 2018. This law allows foreign entities to store their data in data centers located in Bahrain while maintaining the data protection laws of their home country. By leveraging Bahrain’s unique data embassy framework, Nillion and stc Bahrain will empower users and organizations to store encrypted and private data securely within Bahrain, benefitting from both local and international data protection standards.

“Partnering with stc Bahrain allows us to leverage their Wholesale team’s global network to showcase and offer the power of Blind Computation to a diverse network of partners and customers worldwide.” said Alex Page, CEO at Nillion. “By combining Nillion’s advanced secure computing solutions with stc Bahrain’s robust telecommunications infrastructure and Bahrain’s data embassy law, we are setting a new standard for the management and protection of sensitive information on a global scale.”
